Why Take a Birth Class Locally in Temecula/Murrieta
Online birth classes have exploded in availability — and for some families, they work well. But there is something irreplaceable about a small-group, in-person birth class led by a provider who knows your community, knows the local hospitals and birth centers, and teaches from real, local experience. At Birthstone Women's Wellness, our childbirth classes are taught by Tayna Chessman — a licensed midwife who has attended births throughout Southwest Riverside County and North San Diego County and brings that grounded, practical experience into every class.
Our classes are small — intentionally so. Small groups mean you actually get your questions answered, you get to hear other families' questions (often ones you didn't think to ask), and the educator has time to address your specific situation rather than delivering a generic lecture to a room of 40.

View Class ScheduleBest Time to Take a Birth Class
The ideal time for a comprehensive childbirth preparation class is between 28 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. This is early enough that you have time to apply what you learn and continue refining your birth plan, but late enough that the material feels vivid and immediately relevant. Breastfeeding classes can be taken a bit earlier and are valuable even before 28 weeks. If you are further along and haven't yet taken a class, a private session or condensed format can still make a meaningful difference.
Insurance Coverage for Childbirth Classes
Some insurance plans cover childbirth education — coverage varies by plan. We recommend checking with your insurance plan or using our benefits verification form before registering. Even without insurance coverage, our class fees are kept accessible for Riverside County families.
